rFactor 2 - HDR a Bloom effects
Image Space Incorporated has released new preview screenshots of the rFactor 2 simulation.
"The rFactor 2 development team have been working on a number of graphical effects. The screenshots here are a good indication of where we are heading with the effects, but it’s important to note that we still have a few things to finalize, most notably the HDR light/dark differences in clouds. So these images still certainly carry the “work-in-progress” label.
One of the features we put the most time into was allowing players to make their own HDR profiles so that they can adjust for a look that appeals to them."

You can view many more work-in-progress screenshots of the HDR in action by visiting the screenshots page.

F1 2011 - Developer Diary #4
Codemasters have released the 4th and final developer diary video of their upcoming F1 2011 racing game. This video features all new gameplay footage and reveals the all-new Safety Car in action alongside a range of season updates that make the game feel completely different.
"Safety car - a lot of people have been asking us for it. We'd always said we'd only do it when it was absolutely right, so now it's available in single player and multiplayer," said Stephen Hood, Chief Games Designer.
All of the rule changes from the 2011 FIA FORMULA WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP are included to give players the authentic Formula 1 experience. KERS - Kinetic Energy Recovery System - gives players an acceleration boost to launch out of corners. DRS - Drag Reduction System - adds acceleration for overtaking in specified zones around each circuit and the new Pirelli tires affect performance and handling of the cars on track, changing qualifying and racing strategy. "These three things alone make the game feel completely different," added Stephen Hood.
F1 2011 launches for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC Games For Windows on September 23rd in the UK.

InsideSimRacing.tv - Driverpod-pro review
InsideSimRacing.tv presents their review of the Driverpod Pro. The Driverpod Pro is a wheel stand equipped to hold your favorite wheel and pedal set. Shaun Cole takes you through assembly, setup and and adjustments in this detailed review of the rig.
With large mounting areas of 23cm’s x 47cm’s for the wheel and 37cm’s x 62cm’s for the pedals you will find both the Driverpod-pro and the Driverpod give you enough area to mount most wheels and pedals.
The Driverpod-pro and Driverpod give you so much adjustability that you will find you never have to drive in your socks again, unless of course you want to. The ease of adjustment means you can quickly and easily make changes to pedal set up, so when you’ve got your friends round and your all having a go at racing, everyone feels comfortable with their choice of pedal position.
Drivepod will cost you £335 + shipping, Driverpod-pro will cost you £365 + shipping.
